I find a compelling aesthetic in the interplay of artifical light extending beyond the confines of natural darkness.
The idea for this project manifested itself while I was on a bus ride home, glancing out the window I noticed how all this artficial light around us played with the dark, how this bright white light dragged itself across the dark pavement outside, it reminded me of lighthouses, a bright beacon that lit up the dark area.
Taken on Kodak Portra 800 I walked around Merton, Westminister & other parts of London.
I aimed to capture that sense of a beacon, that interplay of artifical light with natural dark, how the shadows morph and change with passers by.
